When we at Phillips and Fredricks first opened our doors, the top number one movie was “Back to the Future,” we were still listening to a thing called a “radio” where Wham! topped the charts with “Careless Whisper” and the first version of Windows® had just been released. The year was 1985, and Phillips and Fredricks has been serving the Somerset Hills communities ever since.
The people of Phillips and Fredricks bring you nearly a century of combined experience, with owners Phil Fuchs and Rick Weiss accounting for more than half of that number. Rick is a registered jeweler with the American Gem Society and has successfully completed Gemological Institute of America (GIA) diamond grading courses.
Phil began working for a local jeweler in 1981 and quickly developed a passion to open his own store. After four years, he would do just that. In 1985, the real journey began. Later, he would join forces with 2nd generation jeweler Rick Weiss and add his name to the “shingle.” Phillips and Fredricks was born.
Today, no member of the staff has less than 15 years of retail jewelry experience, and Phillips and Fredricks has earned the reputation as the premier jeweler in the area.
Every person you meet at Phillips and Fredricks is knowledgeable about gemstones and jewelry and is passionate about what we do. We strive to deliver prompt and courteous service. If you ever have a question, feel free to ask anyone – even one of the owners, because either Phil, Rick, or both are always in the store.
